The Perfect Fit: Norris Cole



Norris Cole is the type of player that is easy to talk about. When his college coach, Gary Waters, speaks about how much the 6-2 point guard mean to his Cleveland State Team, there is nothing labored about his cadence. Praise for Cole is effusive.

“He’s a great kid,” Waters said. “I’m not talking about average. He’s the best type of kid I’ve ever had in my program.”

The type he’s talking about is complete. Not just offense and defense, in the gym or on his own time, but of both body and mind. He gave everything he could physically because everything was asked of him in 34 and 36 minutes per game his final two seasons as a Viking, yet this is a country full of players capable of physical performance. Not every college player keeps his teammates on campus for two summer sessions before his senior year and guarantees his coach that he’ll have everyone up at 7 a.m. each day.

Mavs edge Heat to tie series 2-2!


Once again, Heat stand on the wrong end of a meltdown!

DALLAS – The lone superstar of the Mavericks bravely chugged through Game 4 with a cherry red nose, fighting a 101-degree temperature , doing plenty of sniffling and wheezing and gasping.

But not coughing. Dirk Nowitzki left that to others.

He left that to the Heat, who had a a collective late-game meltdown, with Lebron James holding the torch. Mental errors, blown shots and zippo from James will haunt Miami at least for another day, if not the series. If not the off-season. With Nowitzki hurta and a game dangling for the taking, Miami blew a chance to assume a commanding lead in the NBA Finals and their closer, in particular, turned the vapor.

NBA Finals: Miami Heat takes 2-1 lead against Dallas Mavericks!


The star studded Miami Heat team now takes a 2-1 lead against the veteran laden Dallas Mavericks leaded by German star Dirk Nowitzki in their best of seven National Basketball Association Final Series.

This developed after the Heat beat the Mavericks 88-86 in Game 3 of their series in Dallas, Texas through the strong efforts of the big-three of the visiting team the Miami Heat headed by Lebron James.

Heat superstar guard Dwayne ‘Flash’ Wade took charge in scoring for his team with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Fellow NBA superstars Lebron ‘King’ James and Chris Bosh also added 17 and 18 points respectively to tow their team to victory against the determined home team Dallas Mavericks team.

Mavericks tied series 1-1 : Anatomy of a Comeback!


MIAMI – The Miami Heat had just gone on a 13-0 run to take a 88-73 lead with 7:14 left to go in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Dallas Mavericks had gone eight straight possessions without a score.

Then came a 22-5 Mavs run that stunned the crowd at American Airlines Arena, forced hundreds of media to rewrite their stories in a manner of minutes, and tied the series at one game apiece.

NBA Finals 2011: Miami Heat takes 1-0 lead!


Lebron James, Dwayne Wade step up in 4th, stake Heat to 1-0 Finals lead

MIAMI – Dwayne Wade’s night began with a hug from her mom. It ended with an embrace from Lebron James.

Nearby, Chris Bosh held up three fingers.

No explanation necessary. The Miami Heat is three wins from the reason why the Big Three came together in the first place.

Lebron James scored 24 points for his first win in five NBA Finals games, Wad scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half and the Heat beat the Dallas Mavericks 92-84 in Game 1 of the title series on Tuesday night – holding the Western Conference Champions to their lowest point total of the playoffs after a dominant defensive showing down the stretch.
