NBA Stars descend for ultimate show!


The brightest NBA Stars descend into the heart of the country’s sporting mecca for the ultimate basketball experience for their loyal followers, all raring to feed into the Filipino’s passion for the sport.

Called the Ultimate All-Star Weekend, the two-game series brings in the current icons in the NBA, headed by Kobe Bryant , Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.

The supporting cast is as star-studded made up of Derek Fisher, Derrick Williams, Tyreke Evans, James Harden and JaVale McGee.

They arrived yesterday for the exhibition games with a PBA selection tonight and Smart Gilas Pilipinas tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum in a mega-buck dream series put up by MVP Sports Foundation.

Ten months ago, that was the popular refrain, and it was used as a sledgehammer against Lebron James when he left the Cavaliers very sloppily to join a pair of All-Stars in Miami.

And now, we can reprise that with the same intensity, but in a completely different circumstance, given how he and the Heat just crashed the NBA Finals.

Miami Heat takes driver’s seat against Chicago Bulls 2-1!


Bosh’s intensity – and buckets – put Heat in driver’s seat

MIAMI -- The series is getting intense, with bodies falling and tempers rising, and yet who would've thought in this atmosphere the Bulls would get their heads Boshed in?

Yes, that was Chris Bosh, thumping the Bulls in Game 3, along with his own chest after celebrating a nifty spin move and dunk that brought the house down and put the Heat up in the best-of-seven. Yes, that was Bosh, almost matching the scoring total of the more celebrated of the Big Three, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Wait. This was the same player who wondered aloud during the Boston series if he was too intimidated by the surroundings?

Miami Heat Tied Series against Chicago Bulls 1-1!

Chicago (AP) – Missed shots and wasted opportunities. The Chicago Bulls couldn’t connect in the fourth quarter and they couldn’t stop a late surge by Lebron James, either.
