Pippen: “ MJ Best Scorer, ‘Bron Best Player…To Ever Play the Game”

Six NBA Titles have a way of making that happen.

But Bulls fans had to cringe this morning when Pippen suggested, on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike In the Morning, that Lebron James, and not his former teammate, Michael Jordan, could end up being the greatest all-around player in the league has ever seen.

No, seriously, Pippen said it:

“ Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game, “Pippen said. “But I may go as far as to say Lebron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved. You have to be on your Ps and Qs on defense. No guy on the basketball court is not a threat to score with Lebron James out there. Not only will Lebron dominate from the offensive end as well, but he’s also doing it on the defensive end which really makes him the complete package. He’s able to get in those passing lanes, shoot those gaps and create transition opportunities where he is pretty much unstoppable.”

You lost us at “but,” Scottie.

And maybe it’s a generational thing. Maybe we’ve romanticized the Jordan era the same way our predecessors did the Magic-Bird era of the NBA or the old school crowd did the Celtics’ dynasty.

Lebron James over Michael Jordan right now, before LeBron actually gets his first ring?

That’s a tough sell here at the hideout. We know it can’t be going over well in Chicago. Not after last night.

What you say?

Miami Heat takes a commanding lead against Chicago Bulls 3-1!

With Miller’s emergence, it’s all coming together for Miami Heat

MIAMI – After seven months, the team the Heat envisioned last summer when they put this group together finally surfaced, and who knew it would be Dwayne Wade arriving better late than never?

As a result, the end of the Eastern Conference finals is near, if only because the Heat can actually get better if Mike Miller is going to shoot like that.

It was a unified effort, with Miller and Udonis Haslem, the Little Two that Could, finally joining the Big 3 and making Miami mathematically impossible for the Bulls to beat in Game 4.

Miami Heat takes driver’s seat against Chicago Bulls 2-1!

Bosh’s intensity – and buckets – put Heat in driver’s seat

MIAMI -- The series is getting intense, with bodies falling and tempers rising, and yet who would've thought in this atmosphere the Bulls would get their heads Boshed in?

Yes, that was Chris Bosh, thumping the Bulls in Game 3, along with his own chest after celebrating a nifty spin move and dunk that brought the house down and put the Heat up in the best-of-seven. Yes, that was Bosh, almost matching the scoring total of the more celebrated of the Big Three, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Wait. This was the same player who wondered aloud during the Boston series if he was too intimidated by the surroundings?

Miami Heat Tied Series against Chicago Bulls 1-1!

Chicago (AP) – Missed shots and wasted opportunities. The Chicago Bulls couldn’t connect in the fourth quarter and they couldn’t stop a late surge by Lebron James, either.

And now the Bulls head to Miami with the Eastern Conference finals tied at 1-1 and the Heat in control of homecourt advantage. Read More…
